Can Modular Buildings Be Two Storeys?
Yes. Adacon P600 modules can be stacked to form two-storey buildings as part of an appropriately designed configuration, with a staircase where required. A two-storey building of four modules gives approximately 45.60 m² of floor area on a footprint of only two modules, which is why it suits constrained sites.

Why go up rather than out
Stacking halves the ground footprint for the same internal area. On construction sites, school grounds, sports clubs and yards where usable ground space is limited or expensive, that is often the deciding factor.
Typical two-storey layouts
Common arrangements we build from the same module system:
- Site office over welfare — canteen, drying room and WCs below, offices and meeting space above
- Clubhouse — changing rooms and showers below, bar or function space above
- Office building — open-plan working below, meeting rooms and management offices above
- Viewing or supervision space — glazed upper level overlooking a pitch, yard or site
Access and staircases
A staircase is included where a second storey is specified. Depending on layout it can sit internally within a module or externally with a landing and balustrade. Balconies and roof terraces are possible within a designed configuration.
Worth knowing: Two-storey configurations are more likely to require planning permission and building regulations input, and depend on ground conditions, base design and craneage access.
