Can a modular building be used as a dental practice?

Yes — the building can be configured around dental requirements: room sizes, surgery layout, decontamination routing, drainage, power and finishes. The clinical specification and any regulatory or NHS contract requirements are confirmed for the individual project with your advisers.

Can it be an extension to our existing practice?

Yes. A modular block is commonly used to add one or more surgeries, a decontamination room or staff space alongside an existing practice, with less disruption than a traditional extension.

How many surgeries can we have?

As many as the module count allows — a four-module building comfortably takes two surgeries plus decontamination, waiting and staff space.

What about X-ray and imaging rooms?

An X-ray or OPG room can be planned into the layout, but radiation shielding and equipment specification are confirmed with your equipment supplier and radiation protection adviser.

Can it be used as temporary decant space during a refit?

Yes. A fitted practice building can be delivered for the duration of a refurbishment and relocated or removed afterwards.

How long does it take?

Manufacture typically runs to a matter of weeks rather than the months a traditional clinical build takes, with internal fit-out completed before delivery.

Wall positions, door widths, drainage, ventilation paths and power runs are planned around the chairs, compressors and sterilisation equipment you intend to install, not a standard cabin layout.

The Adacon P600 modular building measures 5.9m × 2.2m (5900mm × 2200mm) externally, with an approximate usable internal size of 5.8m × 2.1m and an internal floor area of approx. 12.18 m² per module, and costs £10,750 + VAT per module. Each module can include a kitchen, toilet, shower, internal partitions, windows, doors, lighting, sockets and a consumer unit, and modules can be joined side by side or stacked to two storeys.
