A practical building for access control

This P600 configuration is designed for security and site-control operations where staff need a clear, self-contained base close to an entrance, gate or vehicle route. Two steel-framed modules are joined in a straight run, creating an overall footprint of 11.8m x 2.2m and approximately 24 m² of internal floor area. The single-storey format makes it suitable for sites, car parks and distribution centres managing pedestrian or vehicle access. It forms part of Adacon’s range of security cabins.

Module-by-module layout

Module 1 forms the western half of the building. Its exposed north-facing 5.9m wall contains three small windows, spaced along the elevation. The south-facing 5.9m wall has the building’s single glazed entrance door. A large window is positioned in the exposed 2.2m western end wall, providing an outward-facing glazed area at one end of the cabin.

Module 2 continues the building eastwards. Its exposed north-facing 5.9m wall also has three small windows. The south-facing wall contains a further three small windows, while the exposed 2.2m eastern end wall has one large window. The western end of Module 2 connects directly to Module 1, producing the continuous 11.8m run.

Across the complete configuration, there are nine small windows, two large end windows and one single glazed door. The openings provide glazing on both long elevations and at each outer end of the building. The WC is included within the internal fit-out, giving security personnel access to an on-site facility without requiring a separate welfare cabin.

External finish and roof

The exterior is finished in smooth Anthracite cladding, giving the cabin a clean, restrained appearance suited to operational environments. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the profile straightforward and compact. The two modules are installed as one coordinated building rather than as separate freestanding cabins.

Specification and indicative price

The indicative price is £21,500 excluding VAT, or £25,800 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification. This covers the two-module P600 building in the configuration described, including the specified Anthracite finish, flat roof, door and window arrangement, and internal WC. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are quoted separately because access, travel, lifting arrangements, foundations and service requirements vary by location.

Lead time and site preparation

A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The actual programme depends on design confirmation, production scheduling and the requirements of the installation site, so the delivery date is confirmed as part of the project quotation.

The building requires a suitable firm, level base prepared to the agreed setting-out information. The site must also provide sufficient access for delivery vehicles and the lifting operation, with overhead restrictions, boundaries and nearby structures considered in advance. Utility connections, drainage for the WC, permissions and other site-specific requirements remain subject to the individual location.
