2-Module Gatehouse with WC

A clear, practical gatehouse layout

This configuration uses two 5.9m x 2.2m P600 modules linked in a straight run to form an overall footprint of 11.8m x 2.2m. The resulting single-storey building provides approximately 24 m² of internal floor area. Its long, narrow plan is well suited to boundary positions, access roads and controlled entrances where visibility is important but available site width may be limited.

Designed for gatehouse applications, the building provides a defined working space for security and site-control personnel. Typical buyers include logistics parks managing vehicle movements, schools controlling visitor access and gated developments requiring a permanent staffed entrance point.

Module 1 openings

Module 1 forms the western end of the building. Its exposed north-facing 5.9m wall contains two large windows, providing a broad view from the main internal space. The south-facing wall combines two small windows with a single glazed door between them, creating the building’s external entrance while retaining useful natural light on this side.

The exposed 2.2m west end is fitted with a full-size window. Together with the windows on the north and south walls, this gives the first module glazing across three elevations. The arrangement is particularly useful where staff need to observe approaching pedestrians or vehicles from more than one direction.

Module 2 openings

Module 2 continues the run towards the east. Its north-facing 5.9m wall has two large windows, matching the broad areas of glazing on Module 1. The south-facing wall also has two large windows, creating clear outward views along both long elevations of this part of the gatehouse.

A full-size window is positioned in the exposed 2.2m east end. With full-size glazing at both ends of the completed building, the layout supports long views along the approach and departure sides of an entrance point. Exterior and internal fit-out

The exterior is finished in smooth Anthracite cladding, giving the gatehouse a restrained, modern appearance that works well in commercial, educational and residential settings. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the overall profile clean. Internally, the configuration includes a WC and is supplied to Adacon’s standard fitted specification rather than as an unfinished shell.

Price, programme and siting

The indicative price is £21,500 excluding VAT, or £25,800 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification described here. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are quoted separately. Final costs depend on the destination, access conditions, required services and any changes to the stated layout or specification.

A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks, subject to order confirmation and current production scheduling. The site will require suitable prepared foundations or bases, adequate access for delivery and lifting operations, and an agreed position for the 11.8m x 2.2m footprint. Utility requirements for the WC must be established before installation. Planning, regulatory requirements and site constraints should also be confirmed for the intended location.
