Two-storey welfare accommodation
This configuration uses five steel-framed P600 modules to create a two-storey welfare building with approximately 61 m² of internal floor area. Its compact 11.8m x 4.4m footprint makes efficient use of site space, while the external steel staircase provides access to the first floor without taking up valuable room inside.
Designed for the construction sector, the building can accommodate the everyday welfare functions expected on a working site, including canteen space, a drying area and washroom facilities. It is a defined option within Adacon’s range of site welfare units, rather than a generic cabin arrangement.
Module-by-module layout
The five modules are arranged across ground and first-floor levels. The specified doors and windows provide multiple sources of natural light while retaining high-level privacy glazing where required.
- Module 1, ground floor: the exposed north-facing 5.9m wall has a small window, a pair of glazed entrance doors and a second small window. The exposed west 2.2m end has one high-level, top-only window.
- Module 2, ground floor: three small windows are fitted to the exposed north wall and three to the exposed south wall. The east end has one high-level, top-only window.
- Module 3, ground floor: the exposed south wall has three small windows. Both exposed 2.2m ends have a high-level, top-only window.
- Module 4, first floor: three small windows are fitted to both the north and south walls, with two small windows in the exposed west end.
- Module 5, first floor: the north and south walls each have three small windows, while the exposed east end has two small windows.
The internal allocation can be organised around the operational needs of the site, separating eating, changing and washing functions as required. The first floor adds usable accommodation without increasing the stated footprint.
Exterior and internal fit-out
The exterior is finished in Dark grey horizontal cladding, with a flat roof and slim fascia for a clean, restrained appearance. The external steel staircase runs up the outside of the building and serves the upper-storey accommodation.
The standard fitted specification includes a kitchenette, WC and shower. These facilities support use as a construction site canteen and welfare base, with space available for a drying room arrangement. Final room allocation, furniture and site-specific requirements should be confirmed before the configuration is signed off.
Price and programme
The indicative price is £53,750 excluding VAT, or £64,500 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are quoted separately because access, foundations, service connections and local site conditions vary between projects.
Typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The programme should be confirmed at the point of order and will depend on final specification approval, production scheduling, delivery access and site readiness. Layout options can be reviewed using the P600 configurator.
Preparing the site
The modules require suitable prepared foundations or supports on a level site, together with delivery and lifting access for positioning and stacking. Space must also be allowed for the external staircase. Power, water and drainage connections are needed for the kitchenette, WC and shower, with connection work agreed separately. Planning, building control and other site-specific obligations should be checked for the intended location before installation.
