Two-storey welfare space for active sites

This configuration combines four 5.9m x 2.2m P600 modules to form a two-storey building with an overall footprint of 5.9m x 4.4m. It provides approximately 49 m² of internal floor area without taking up the ground space of a comparable single-storey layout. Designed for the construction sector, it is a practical option for sites that need canteen, drying-room and WC facilities in one building. See further information on site welfare units.

    Module-by-module layout

The modules are linked in pairs at ground and first-floor level, with an internal staircase connecting the two floors. The staircase is contained within the building and is not visible externally.

    • Module 1, ground floor: The north-facing 5.9m elevation has a glazed double door positioned between two small windows. The east and west 2.2m ends each have one top-only, high-level window.
    • Module 2, ground floor: The south-facing 5.9m elevation has two top-only, high-level windows. Its exposed east and west ends each have a further top-only, high-level window.
    • Module 3, first floor: The north-facing elevation has three small windows. Both exposed 2.2m end walls have two small windows, giving four end windows across the east and west elevations.
    • Module 4, first floor: The south-facing elevation has three small windows. The east and west ends each have two small windows, matching the first-floor window arrangement of Module 3.

The single external entrance is through the glazed double door on the north elevation. High-level ground-floor windows provide controlled daylight and privacy, while the first floor has a broader spread of small windows on all exposed sides.

    Exterior and internal fit-out

The exterior is finished with horizontal cladding in Light grey. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the profile straightforward and suitable for a working construction environment. The steel-framed P600 modules are delivered as a coordinated building and stacked to create the specified two-storey arrangement.

The standard fitted specification includes a kitchenette, WC and shower. These facilities support day-to-day welfare use, including meal breaks, washing and changing or drying-room requirements. The exact operational use of the remaining internal space can be planned around site staffing and working practices.

    Price and specification

The indicative price is £43,000 excluding VAT, or £51,600 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification described here. Delivery, groundworks and site-specific works are not included and are quoted separately because access, distance, foundations, service requirements and installation conditions vary by site. Alternative P600 arrangements can be explored through the P600 configurator.

    Lead time and siting

A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks, subject to specification confirmation, production scheduling and site readiness. Before delivery, the site needs suitable prepared groundworks, clear access for the modules and installation plant, and provision for the required utility connections. Available working space, overhead restrictions and the route to the final position should also be checked. Any planning, Building Regulations or other site-specific approval requirements must be established for the intended location and period of use.
