A compact two-storey teaching building
This configuration uses four 5.9m x 2.2m P600 modules, arranged as two modules on each storey. The completed building has a 5.9m x 4.4m footprint and provides approximately 49 m² of internal floor area. Its two-storey format is particularly useful for schools that need to expand capacity without taking up the ground area required by a comparable single-storey layout.
Designed for the Education sector, the building can provide practical additional accommodation for primary or secondary schools. Further information about this type of building is available on the modular classrooms page.
Ground-floor modules
Module 1 forms the northern half of the ground floor. Its exposed north elevation has a pair of glazed doors positioned between two large windows, creating the main external entrance and bringing natural light into the space. The exposed east and west ends each contain one large window.
Module 2 forms the southern half of the ground floor and links directly with Module 1. Its south-facing 5.9m elevation contains two large windows. The east and west ends each have a further large window, giving this level windows on all exposed sides.
First-floor modules
Module 3 sits above Module 1 on the northern side. Its north elevation contains three small windows, while both the east and west ends contain two small windows each. This creates a consistent first-floor window pattern without copying the larger openings used at ground level.
Module 4 sits above Module 2 on the southern side. Three small windows are positioned along its exposed south elevation, with two small windows on the east end and two on the west end. An external steel staircase runs up the outside of the building to provide the route between levels.
Exterior and internal fit-out
The exterior is finished with horizontal cladding in Light grey. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the overall appearance straightforward and well suited to an existing school campus. Adacon designs, manufactures and delivers the P600 system, with buildings delivered and installed across the UK.
The standard fitted specification for this configuration includes a kitchenette and WC. These facilities allow the building to operate with greater independence from the main school premises, while the linked modules provide usable teaching and circulation space across both floors. The internal arrangement can be reviewed using the P600 configurator.
Price and programme
The indicative price is £43,000 excluding VAT, or £51,600 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification described. This price covers the four-module, two-storey building with its stated exterior, doors, windows, external steel staircase, kitchenette and WC. Delivery, groundworks and all site-specific works are quoted separately.
A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The final programme depends on specification approval, site conditions and the delivery and installation plan, so confirmed dates are provided for each project.
Preparing the school site
The site must be assessed before delivery. Requirements include suitable access for delivery and lifting operations, appropriately designed and prepared foundations, and provision for any required utility and drainage connections. Ground conditions, working space, local restrictions and statutory requirements also need to be considered.
Because these factors vary from one school to another, groundworks, delivery arrangements and other site-specific works are not included in the indicative building price. They are scoped and quoted separately once the proposed location and access conditions have been reviewed.
