A compact building for site control

This single-module P600 is configured as a compact gatehouse for staffed entrances where oversight, visitor contact and access control need to sit in one practical room. It is suited to logistics parks, schools and gated developments, and forms part of Adacon’s wider range of gatehouses for the Security & Site Control sector. With an approximate internal floor area of 11 m², it provides a defined working space without the footprint of a larger multi-module building.

Single-module run layout

The building uses one P600 module in a single-storey run layout. Its external footprint is 5.9m long by 2.2m wide. As a standalone module, all four sides are exposed external walls, with the door and window arrangement distributed around the building to support visibility from the working area.

The north-facing 5.9m wall contains two large windows. Each 2.2m end wall has one full-size window: one on the east end and one on the west end. The south-facing 5.9m wall combines the main entrance with two smaller windows.

Access and internal fit-out

Access is through the single glazed door on the south elevation, positioned between the two small windows. The internal specification includes a WC, allowing the gatehouse to operate as a self-contained staffed space where suitable service connections are available. The remaining internal floor area provides the principal gatehouse workspace; any additional furniture, equipment or site-specific requirements should be defined separately.

Dark grey external finish

The exterior is finished in vertical Dark grey cladding, giving the module a clear, practical appearance for entrance and perimeter locations. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the overall profile straightforward and compact. Adacon designs, manufactures and delivers the P600 system, with buildings delivered and installed across the UK.

Typical lead time

A typical lead time for a P600 building is 8–12 weeks. The actual programme will depend on the confirmed specification, delivery location and any site-specific requirements that need to be resolved before delivery and installation.

Preparing the site

The gatehouse requires a suitable, level prepared base and clear access for delivery and installation. Ground conditions, access restrictions and the position of the building within the entrance or security area should be assessed in advance. The WC also requires the appropriate site services to be planned and brought to the required connection points. Groundworks, service connections, delivery arrangements and other site-specific works are assessed and priced separately.
