This P600 configuration uses six 5.9m x 2.2m steel-framed modules to create a single-storey building with an overall footprint of 17.7m x 8.1m. The finished building provides approximately 73 m² of internal floor area, arranged in an L shape rather than as a simple rectangular block. It is suited to primary and secondary schools looking for a substantial modular classroom with its own kitchenette and WC.

The L-shaped plan can help the building sit around an existing outdoor area, pathway or part of the school estate, subject to the available site and required access. The classroom is supplied as a fitted modular building rather than an empty shell, giving schools a defined starting specification for capacity planning and budgeting.

Module-by-module external layout

Module 1 forms the principal entrance elevation. Its exposed north-facing 5.9m wall has a large window, a double-leaf glazed door and a second large window. The exposed 2.2m west end also has a large window. This is the only external doorway specified for the configuration.

Module 2 has two large windows along its exposed north-facing 5.9m wall. Module 3 also has two large windows on its north-facing 5.9m wall, plus one large window in the exposed 2.2m east end. Its exposed south-facing 5.9m wall contains a further two large windows.

Module 4 has one large window in its exposed 2.2m south end and two large windows along its exposed west-facing 5.9m wall. Module 5 has one large window in its exposed 2.2m south end. Module 6 completes the external arrangement with two large windows along its exposed east-facing 5.9m wall and one large window in the exposed 2.2m south end.

Exterior finish and internal provision

The exterior is finished in smooth Anthracite cladding, giving the six linked modules a consistent appearance across the complete L-shaped building. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the roofline simple and unobtrusive. The specified elevations combine the glazed entrance with multiple large windows around the exposed sides and ends.

Internally, the standard fitted specification includes a kitchenette and WC. These facilities make the building practical as self-contained additional classroom accommodation, reducing reliance on facilities elsewhere in the school. Indicative price and scope

The indicative price for this six-module classroom is £64,500 excluding VAT, or £77,400 including VAT, based on the standard fitted specification. This covers the configured modular building with its stated external finish, window and door arrangement, kitchenette and WC. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are not included in the indicative price and are quoted separately after the site requirements have been established.

Lead time and siting requirements

Typical lead time is 8–12 weeks, subject to order confirmation, final specification and the installation programme. Schools should allow time for any required permissions, site preparation and coordination with existing operations.

The building requires a suitable, level and properly prepared base appropriate to the site conditions. Delivery and installation access must be checked for the full route to the proposed position, including entrances, turning space and overhead or width restrictions. Connections for the WC and kitchenette must also be planned. Ground conditions, drainage, utility routes and other site-specific requirements are assessed separately and reflected in the project quotation.
