A wide classroom formed from four modules

This configuration links four 5.9m x 2.2m P600 modules side by side, creating a single-storey building with a 5.9m x 8.8m footprint. The completed classroom provides approximately 49m² of internal floor area, giving schools a useful amount of teaching space without moving to a two-storey arrangement. It is intended for primary and secondary schools expanding capacity through a purpose-designed modular classroom.

The modules are arranged with their long sides parallel. Module 1 forms the north side of the building, Modules 2 and 3 occupy the centre, and Module 4 forms the south side. This creates the broad proportions of the wide layout while retaining the repeatable structure of the P600 system.

    Module-by-module window and door layout

Module 1 contains the building’s single glazed entrance door. Its exposed north wall has a large window, the glazed single door and a second large window arranged across the 5.9m elevation. A further large window is fitted in each exposed 2.2m end wall to the east and west.

Module 2 sits immediately beside Module 1. Its north and south sides connect to the adjoining modules, while its exposed east and west ends each contain one large window. These openings bring daylight into the central part of the linked building.

Module 3 follows the same end-wall arrangement as Module 2. It has one large window in the exposed east end and one large window in the exposed west end, maintaining a consistent run of glazing across both ends of the classroom.

Module 4 completes the southern edge of the building. Its east and west end walls each have one large window. The exposed south wall contains three small windows positioned across the 5.9m elevation. Across the full configuration, the specification therefore includes ten large windows, three small windows and one glazed single door.

    External finish and internal fit-out

The exterior is finished with horizontal Timber effect cladding, giving the classroom a warmer visual character that can sit comfortably within an established school site. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the roofline simple and gives the single-storey building a clean, low-profile appearance.

The internal specification includes a WC as part of the fitted building. The linked modules are supplied as one coordinated P600 configuration rather than separate standalone units. Schools can also review the modular format and alternative arrangements using the P600 configurator.

Indicative price and separate site costs

The indicative price is £43,000 excluding VAT, or £51,600 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification described here. This covers the four-module classroom configuration, its specified external finish, listed doors and windows, and WC fit-out. Delivery, groundworks and site-specific works are not included in that figure and are quoted separately once the location, access and site requirements have been assessed.

    Programme and siting requirements

A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The final programme depends on order confirmation, specification sign-off and the practical requirements of the site, so delivery and installation dates are agreed for each project.

Before installation, the site must be assessed for delivery access, positioning of the modules and suitable prepared groundworks. Space must be available for the delivery and installation operation, while connections required for the WC and other services need to be planned around existing site infrastructure. Any necessary permissions, service routes and site-specific works should be established before installation. These items are assessed separately because conditions vary considerably between school sites.
