Additional teaching space for growing schools
This P600 configuration is designed for primary and secondary schools expanding their teaching capacity. Four steel-framed modules are linked end to end in a straight run, creating a long, single-storey building with approximately 49 m² of internal floor area. The layout is suitable for use as a self-contained classroom, with a kitchenette and WC included within the fitted interior. Further information about this use case is available on the modular classrooms page.
Four-module run layout
The complete building has a footprint of 23.6m x 2.2m. Each P600 module measures 5.9m x 2.2m, with the modules connected at their 2.2m ends to form one continuous structure. The narrow run format can suit school sites where available space follows a boundary, playground edge or existing circulation route, subject to the required access and ground preparation.
Module-by-module window and door arrangement
Module 1 forms the western end of the classroom. Its exposed north wall has two large windows, while the south wall has a large window, a single glazed entrance door and a second large window. The exposed west end is fitted with a full-size window, bringing daylight into the end of the building as well as through both long elevations.
Module 2 continues the run with two large windows on its north wall and two large windows on its south wall. There is no external door specified in this module. The repeated window arrangement gives this central section a balanced pattern of openings on both sides.
Module 3 uses the same external arrangement as Module 2. It has two large windows on the north wall and two large windows on the south wall, maintaining natural light along the central part of the classroom.
Module 4 completes the eastern end of the run. It has two large windows on the north wall, two large windows on the south wall and a full-size window in the exposed east end. Together with the west-end window in Module 1, this provides glazing on all four exposed elevations. The only external entrance specified is the single glazed door on the south side of Module 1.
External finish and internal fit-out
The exterior is finished in Light grey horizontal cladding. A flat roof with a slim fascia keeps the roofline simple and low-profile across the full 23.6m length. Internally, the standard fitted specification for this configuration includes a kitchenette and WC, supporting day-to-day classroom use without relying entirely on facilities elsewhere in the school.
Indicative price and programme
The indicative price is £43,000 ex VAT, or £51,600 inc VAT, for the standard fitted specification described here. This covers the four-module P600 building in the stated configuration, including its specified external finish, doors, windows, kitchenette and WC. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are not included and are quoted separately following review of the school site.
A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The actual programme depends on the confirmed specification, production schedule, site readiness and delivery arrangements. Schools can review the modular format and available configuration approach using the P600 configurator.
Siting requirements
The building requires a suitable prepared and level base, together with clear access for delivery and installation. The delivery route, lifting area, site boundaries and proximity to existing school buildings must be assessed before the programme is confirmed. Required groundworks and site-specific services or access measures will be identified and priced separately, allowing the quotation to reflect the conditions of the individual school site.
