Modular Rooms Designed to Fit Through Your Roller Shutter
Because Adacon manufactures to bespoke dimensions, an office, toilet or staff room can often be sized to pass through an existing roller shutter and be positioned inside your building. The opening is only one part of the check — a room that fits the shutter still has to be delivered, turned, moved and set down safely.
What we assess
- Clear shutter width
- Clear shutter height
- Internal clear height along the route
- External delivery access
- Turning space inside and outside
- Forklift or handling equipment access
- Ground and floor load capacity
- Internal columns, racking and obstacles
- Final positioning requirements
- Electrical, water and drainage access
Why the shutter size is not the whole answer
The external size of a room is not the same as the clearance needed to move it. A room also needs space to be tilted, turned or lifted, and the handling equipment needs its own clearance. We never approve manufacture from customer-entered dimensions alone — every restricted-access project goes through a technical review.
How to measure your shutter
- Measure the clear width between the guide rails, not the door panel
- Measure the clear height from the floor to the lowest point with the shutter fully open, including the shutter box
- Note any ramps, kerbs or level changes at the opening
- Photograph the opening from outside and inside, and the route to the final position
Final electrical, water and drainage connections are arranged separately unless they are expressly included in your approved quotation.

Answer what you can — "Not sure" is fine. We review every enquiry, and restricted-access projects get a technical access check before any design is agreed.
