A practical retail building with a wide layout

This single-storey P600 configuration combines two 5.9m x 2.2m steel-framed modules side by side. Together, they create a wide 5.9m x 4.4m footprint with approximately 24 m² of internal floor area. The layout provides a useful customer-facing space for independent retailers, farm shops and pop-up operators in the Retail & Hospitality sector.

The broad frontage, glazed entrance and eight large windows give the building a visible, accessible retail presence. Module-by-module layout

Module 1 forms the north side of the building. Its exposed 5.9m north elevation has a glazed double door set positioned between two large windows, creating the principal customer entrance and a strong display frontage. The exposed 2.2m east and west ends each contain a further large window, bringing glazing around both corners of the module.

Module 2 sits alongside it to form the full 4.4m building width. Its exposed 5.9m south elevation has two large windows. The east and west end walls also each have one large window. Across the completed building, the two modules therefore provide eight large windows in total, plus the glazed double entrance doors on the north elevation.

The modules are linked as one single-storey building rather than used as separate rooms or units. This arrangement gives retailers a broad internal floor area that can be planned around product displays, customer circulation and service requirements. An internal WC is included within the fit-out, avoiding the need for a separate welfare building.

Exterior and fitted specification

The exterior is finished in vertical Anthracite cladding. A flat roof and slim fascia keep the profile simple and contemporary, making the configuration suitable for farm retail sites, independent trading locations and pop-up operations where presentation matters.

The indicative price is £21,500 excluding VAT, or £25,800 including VAT, for the standard fitted specification. This covers the two-module building in the configuration described, including its doors, windows, exterior finish and internal WC. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are not included and are quoted separately once the location and access requirements are known.

Lead time, delivery and siting

Typical lead time is 8–12 weeks, subject to specification, order timing and the delivery programme. Adacon designs, manufactures and delivers P600 buildings, with installation available across the UK. The building is delivered as two modules and positioned on the prepared site.

A suitable, level base must be ready before installation. The site also needs adequate delivery vehicle and lifting access, together with the services required for the WC. Ground conditions, drainage, utility connections and any planning or site approvals should be established before the delivery date. These requirements are reviewed for each project because they can affect the final installed cost.
