    A practical wide-format teaching space

This configuration uses four P600 modules in a single-storey, wide layout. Each steel-framed module measures 5.9m by 2.2m, creating an overall footprint of 5.9m by 8.8m and approximately 49 m² of internal floor area. The modules are linked to form one broad teaching environment rather than a series of narrow rooms, making the layout suitable for primary and secondary schools expanding capacity.

Designed for use as a modular classroom, the building includes a kitchenette and WC within the fitted internal layout. These facilities support everyday classroom use without requiring pupils or staff to rely entirely on the main school building.

    Module-by-module layout

Module 1 forms the north side of the building. Its exposed 5.9m north elevation has a central glazed double door positioned between two large windows. This creates the main entrance and brings substantial daylight into the teaching space. The exposed east and west 2.2m ends each have one full-size window.

Module 2 sits alongside Module 1 within the wide arrangement. Its north and south walls connect internally to the adjacent modules, while both exposed 2.2m ends are fitted with full-size windows: one facing east and one facing west.

Module 3 follows the same opening arrangement as Module 2. It has one full-size window in the exposed east end and another in the exposed west end, supporting daylight across the central part of the classroom.

Module 4 forms the south side of the building. Its exposed south-facing 5.9m wall contains two large windows, while the east and west ends each have a full-size window. Across the complete configuration, windows are distributed along both end elevations as well as the north and south sides, reducing reliance on light from a single direction.

    External finish and internal fit-out

The exterior is finished in vertical Dark grey cladding. A flat roof with a slim fascia gives the building a restrained, contemporary profile that can sit alongside existing school premises without unnecessary decorative treatment.

The standard fitted specification includes the completed modular building, its stated doors and windows, the kitchenette and the WC. Adacon designs, manufactures and delivers the P600 system, with buildings delivered and installed across the UK. The internal arrangement can be reviewed using the P600 configurator.

    Price and delivery programme

The indicative price for this four-module classroom is £43,000 excluding VAT, or £51,600 including VAT, based on the standard fitted specification. Delivery, groundworks and any site-specific works are not included in this figure and are quoted separately once the location and installation requirements are understood.

A typical lead time is 8–12 weeks. The confirmed programme will depend on the final specification, site information, delivery planning and installation arrangements.

    Preparing the school site

The building requires a suitable prepared location with adequate access for delivery and installation. Ground conditions, levels, access restrictions and the relationship to existing school buildings must be assessed before the final quotation and programme are agreed.

    • Allow for the full 5.9m by 8.8m building footprint.
    • Confirm delivery and installation access within the school site.
    • Identify required groundworks and site-specific works.
    • Plan connections and interfaces with existing site services.
    • Coordinate installation around normal school operations where required.

These items are assessed for the individual site because requirements vary between schools. They are priced separately from the indicative building price rather than being hidden within a general allowance.
